Prepare to Slay: Whip and Slash Your Way through Dracula's Castle in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC. (New trailer)

 Are you ready to take on Dracula’s castle? With the upcoming release of Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC, you’ll have the chance to do just that. Motion Twin and Evil Empire have recently revealed a brand-new trailer showcasing the latest and largest expansion for Dead Cells. Fans of the game and the Castlevania franchise alike will be excited to know that the DLC will be hitting PC and consoles on March 6.

The new gameplay trailer takes you on a tour of what to expect when the update drops, introducing a very special guest via a unique mode that will be featured in the DLC. Richter Mode is a secret level that players can access deep within the castle. Here, you’ll be able to play as Richter, the age-old Castlevania protagonist, for a nostalgia trip that hits harder than the Vampire Killer. The mode features Richter’s classic moveset inspired by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, including jumping whip attacks and other classic abilities. To top it off, players will even have to destroy candles and collect hearts, which are used as ammunition for some weapons. With a boss fight against Medusa and a bevy of enemies to slay, you’ll want to scour every inch of Castle Dracula.

The trailer also showcases The Beheaded, who players can take control of throughout Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania. Using weapons such as the Vampire Killer and Throwing Axe, you’ll have no trouble taking out the animated skeletons and living suits of armor that shuffle through the castle’s halls. Eagle-eyed players and hardcore Castlevania fans may also recognize some familiar set pieces throughout the expansion, so be sure not to leave an inch of the castle unexplored.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC combines the badass roguelike gameplay that fans know and love with one of gaming’s most iconic franchises. Whether you’re filling the shoes of Richter or using his and Alucard’s weapons as The Beheaded, Dracula and his old pal Death won’t know what’s coming to them. The game is set to launch on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
