Recompile is a powerful blend of part Metroid, part Tron and part ReBoot. This single-player adventure has you take on the role of a computer virus inserted in an ancient mainframe super computer. You need to figure out where you are and what you are there to do. Combining traditional metroid-vania mechanics with a dynamic branching narrative system, the game challenges you to explore and solve the many logic puzzles you approach Each change having consequences to story and the world around you. The game is loaded with logic gates that can be free reorganised in ways you , the player sees fit, they are not hardcoded with only one solution. Hack and exploit your way around the game in a way you see fit.
Visually, the look and feel of this game and the design of its protagonist is unlike other games you have seen and it uses some unique vfx to look the way it does.
In this new released eight minute video as part of the summer of gaming event at IGN you can see a variety of gameplay including the hacking mechanics, Several unlockable abilities and some intense gameplay.
Recompile will feature:

Recompile is being developed by UK indie studio Phigames and published by Dear Villagers, and will be coming to PC in 2020.
