EverQuest Legends Pre-Orders Go Live June 16 – Beta Access, Name Reservation, and More Confirmed
The road to a new Norrath is officially opening.
After a long wait, fans of the upcoming game EverQuest Legends finally were offered some juicy new details to sink their teeth into as the studio Game Jawn took a major step toward launch with the announcement of its long-awaited pre-order phase, kicking off on June 16, 2026.
For longtime fans and curious newcomers alike this is the first real chance to stake your claim in this reimagined world before the gates fully open on July 28.
And if you have been following along with the growing excitement around this project, this announcement brings with it some of the most requested features from the community.
Pre-ordering EverQuest Legends comes with three core perks that feel deliberately tailored to the franchise’s legacy:
- Guaranteed Pre-Order Beta Access (Starting July 1)
- Character Name Reservation Across All Launch Servers
- Exclusive In-Game Title: “The Legend”
A small gesture that in a game with a culture built on identity, reputation, and community recognition carries a substantial amount of weight. It is a subtle badge of honor that marks you as someone who was there at the beginning.
There is still one important caveat. This beta is not early access but a true test environment:
- All characters will be wiped on July 21
- Progression will not carry over to launch
For some, that may feel like a drawback. For others, especially those who enjoy the early-game rush and community building, it is exactly the kind of shared experience that defined the early days of EverQuest. Everyone gets to start with a clean slate at launch.
Name Reservation – A big flippy deal!
If you have ever played an MMO at launch, you already know how fast names disappear. EverQuest Legends is addressing that head-on.
Pre-Ordering the game give player the opportunity to lock in their character name, which will then be reserved for them at launch across all servers.
For longtime players who have carried the same name across decades of gaming, this is huge. And for new players, it is a chance to claim something meaningful before the rush. See you out there Xxx_Sephirtoth_xxX
The team has confirmed that more details are coming in a dedicated “Insights” segment, which is welcome. Name systems can get complicated quickly, and there are already plenty of questions around rules, conflicts, and edge cases.
Pricing and Subscription Model
EverQuest Legends is positioning itself as a modern live-service MMO with a classic foundation:
- Base Game: $19.99 (includes 1 month subscription)
- Monthly Subscription: $9.99 after the first month
- Ongoing Content: Planned DLC and expansions
Importantly, subscriptions can be canceled at any time. There has also been early community feedback requesting longer-term plans such as six-month or annual options, which the team has acknowledged they are looking at internally.
What About Content and Expansions?
While EverQuest Legends is rooted in familiar territory, it is not simply retelling the past.
The game exists in its own timeline within Norrath, meaning it will evolve separately from the original EverQuest. That said, the team has already confirmed that Kunark is planned as the first expansion, albeit with its own twist. This balance between nostalgia and new direction continues to be one of the most intriguing aspects of the project and helps setting it apart from the other versions already out there.
Important Notes for Current Testers
If you have already been part of Alpha or Beta testing, there is a key detail to keep in mind:
- You will need to pre-order if you want to participate in the Pre-Order Beta servers
- Existing characters will remain tied to the current test server, which will later transition into a Test Server environment.
In short, the Pre-Order Beta is a separate experience, not a continuation.
With pre-orders opening June 16, Beta kicking off July 1, and launch scheduled for July 28, 2026, the timeline is now firmly in place. One of the most burning questions in the last few weeks has finally been answered
Of course, as with any online launch, the team has been transparent about potential server load challenges. They have allocated significant resources and are prepared to scale, but early congestion is always a possibility. That honesty is appreciated, especially for a game that is clearly expecting a strong turnout.
What will you be playing when you (re) enter Norrath? And what will they call you?
