Revisiting the Horror Classic

For those unfamiliar, The Thing: Remastered is Nightdive Studios’ latest resurrection of a beloved horror title, bringing the terrifying 2002 third-person survival horror shooter into the modern era. Running on Nightdive’s KEX Engine, this remaster upgrades character models, textures, animations, lighting, and atmospheric effects for a truly horrifying experience—now capable of running in 4K at 120FPS.

Set in the frozen wastelands of U.S. Outpost #31, players step into the boots of Captain J.F. Blake, leader of a United States Army Special Forces rescue team sent to investigate the aftermath of the original The Thing film. With a shape-shifting alien lurking among the squad, paranoia runs high—anyone could be infected. Trust is fragile, fear is contagious, and survival is never guaranteed.

Key Features of The Thing: Remastered

  • Continue the Story – A direct sequel to The Thing (1982), face terrifying creatures from scuttling head-spiders to monstrous, multi-tentacled bosses.
  • Squad-Based Strategy – Command a team of Soldiers, Medics, and Engineers, each playing a crucial role in your survival.
  • Paranoia Runs Deep – Someone in your squad may not be who they claim to be. Can you trust them, or will they turn against you?
  • Enhanced Visuals & Performance – Revamped character models, lighting, and effects bring the horror to life in 4K 120FPS on modern hardware.
  • Trophies & Achievements – Available across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Survival Begins June 25

While the physical editions drop on June 25, The Thing: Remastered is already available digitally for $29.99 across PC (Steam & GOG), PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Horror fans, it’s time to head back to the Outpost. Just remember: "The warmest place to hide is in the cold."
