Splatoon 2 is going to celebrate Halloween Splatoween.

Ready for a spooky splatfest event this year? Want to go trick or treating and dress up in spooky costumes while battling in your favorited arenas now themed for the occasion?

A day after releasing their last map for the game, Nintendo announced their first true in-game event for Splatoon 2! It will be a special 48 hour splatfest with the Trick vs Treat theme. And it will start on October 19^th. With themed arenas and special Halloween gear to get in game the game is heading into Halloween full blast and there will be four new gears to win.

Besides the in game awards, special gear will also be given out via the Nintendo Switch news app to subscribers of the Splatoon 2 news channel starting on October 5th.

Splatoon 2 is a third-person shooter developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch console. The game is about mischievous squids duking it out in a team based inksplat territory control game arena. The ink-based shooting mechanics are distinguished by class abilities and upgradable Weapons, Stages and other accessories. The game was released worldwide on 21 July 2017
