Return to Magic: Simon the Sorcerer Origins Opens Digital Pre-Orders with normal and Deluxe Edition
Stuttgart, Germany, September 16, 2025
Back in the 90's I played many point 'n click adventure games, and while Lucas Arts was top dog with they games such as Monkey Island, Grim Fandango and more I also had a very special place in my heart for Simon the Sorcerer which I played so much of on the Amiga. There have been 5 sequels since and then the well dried up besides some special additions etc.
Now there is a new game on the way at last, and the wait is nearly over! Publisher ININ Games and developer Smallthing Studios have officially opened digital pre-orders for Simon the Sorcerer Origins, the long-anticipated return of one of gaming’s most beloved point-and-click heroes.
The upcoming adventure is now available to pre-order across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Mac, Linux, and Steam Deck, giving fans multiple ways to step back into Simon’s mischievous world.
Two Magical Editions to Choose From
Players can secure their journey in either the Standard Edition (€24.99) or the Deluxe Edition (€34.99). The Deluxe package includes:
-
A digital artbook packed with concept art and behind-the-scenes sketches
-
The full official soundtrack, highlighting the enchanting new score
As a special bonus, all pre-orders, Standard or Deluxe, include the exclusive PONY DLC. This delightful addition lets fans swap the new soundtrack for the original Simon the Sorcerer music from the 1990s, adding a nostalgic kick for longtime players.
The Sorcerer Returns After Three Decades
First released in 1993, Simon the Sorcerer became famous for its cheeky humor, clever puzzles, and sarcastic protagonist. Now, more than 30 years later, Simon the Sorcerer Origins revisits the magic by telling the untold origin story of Simon’s first steps into the magical world.
To capture the spirit of the original, the developers brought back the franchise’s iconic voice talent:
-
Chris Barrie returns as Simon’s English voice
-
Erik Borner reprises his role in the German version
Both lend authenticity and familiarity to the hand-drawn modern take on Simon’s classic adventure. With the likeness of a classic Disney or Don Bluth movie, the game brings the world of Simon more to life then ever before.
Music has always been a big part of Simon’s whimsical world, and Origins doubles down with a completely new score from acclaimed composer Mason Fischer. On top of that, the game will also feature a special cameo by music legend Rick Astley, who lends his voice and 80s soul flair to the fantasy adventure.
A brand-new launch trailer has also been revealed, offering fans a closer look at the humor, puzzles, and magical world waiting for them when the game releases.
Release Date
The spellbinding journey begins October 28, 2025.
Simon the Sorcerer Origins is available to pre-order now on Steam, the Nintendo eShop, and the Xbox Store, with PlayStation Store pre-orders going live soon.
